What we do
Overview
Working at the intersection of peacebuilding, governance, and development, PRBP promotes crossborder collaboration and locally led solutions that enhance resilience, foster trust between communities,
and contribute to long-term peace and stability across the IGAD borderlands.
Strengthen cross-border peacebuilding and conflict prevention mechanisms
PRBP supports the establishment and reinforcement of community-led and institutional conflict prevention structures across the IGAD borderlands. Through collaboration with IGAD
CEWARN, local authorities, peace committees, and civil society actors, the programme enhances mediation, reconciliation, dialogue, and early response mechanisms to mitigate cross-border conflicts and strengthen social cohesion.

The programme supports technical working groups, climate risk monitoring, disaster preparedness, and the integration ofdigital early warning systems such as HUSIKA to improve coordinated responses to climaterelated risks, resource-based conflicts, and transboundary animal diseases.
Promote sustainable livelihoods and management of shared natural resources
The programme supports interventions aimed at improving access to livelihoods, strengthening pastoral and livestock systems, and promoting sustainable management of transboundary natural resources including water, rangelands, and grazing corridors. These efforts contribute to reducing resource-based tensions while enhancing resilience among borderland communities.
Strengthen governance and Institutional capacity
